Not happy with this product. We understood that we were getting unfinished wood and that it's a cheaper price for a reason, but come on. The pieces DO NOT line up at all. It doesnt stand straight, its wonky. My husband kept trying to straighten it, but unfortunately if he kept doing it, it would break.
We stained the wood which turned out beautiful, but there were MANY pieces that were covered in sap.
Even for $35 it's not really worth the price, we could have (and honestly should have) just found free pallets and made our own units. Would have been cheaper and nicer.
For the price, they’re okay. The wood isn’t great quality, lots of cracks and split in many spots. Also not sanded down at all so I got several slivers while assembling. Where the bottom and top half meet is only held together with 4 wooden dowels so it’s not sturdy at all. We’ll be gluing them and also adding some sort of brace to hold them together. But assembly was easy and they aren’t too bad looking once completed.
These are solid shelving units. I picked up three earlier today to add to my spare room. For the price you can't go wrong. Easy to assemble, sturdy and light. Bonus points for being unfinished (will probably paint them in a few months).
The only thing i can suggest is that you give them a quick once over in the store to avoid buying one with splits or cracks.
