WINDOW CURTAIN IDEAS FOR EVERY BUDGET

The best place to start when choosing curtains for your home is to decide what light blocking level you want. At JYSK, we carry curtains with 4 varying light block levels. Blackout curtains have the highest level of light blockage, so they are best for light sleepers. They also help minimize noise and save you from extra energy costs by keeping your rooms cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter.

The next level of light blockage is our room darkening curtains, which allow a small amount of light through but still give a significant darkening effect.

At level 2, we have light filtering curtains. Airy and romantic, light filtering curtains make for a quaint addition to any window and the subtle design is perfect for adding texture and visual intrigue to your space.

Finally, we have sheer curtains which offer the lowest level of light blockage, making them perfect if you want natural light with some level of privacy. These are ideal living room curtains, office curtains, or dining room curtains. If you choose to use sheer curtains for your bedroom, we recommend using them in addition to other window treatments for maximum privacy.

In addition to light block levels, you need to keep curtain length in mind. We have 4 curtain length options at JYSK. Our shortest curtains are our sill length curtains which measure 160 cm. Next, we have apron length curtains, which measure 213 cm. Apron length curtains are best suited for kitchen areas or rooms with radiators under the window. Moving on to our long curtains, we have two options. Our floor length curtains measure 245 cm, and our loft length curtains for higher ceilings measure 300 cm.
