Job Applicant Privacy Policy

Personal information gathered during the application process will be used to evaluate your training, skills and experience for opportunities with JYSK Linen’n Furniture Inc. (“JYSK”). The data gathered is hosted by a third party application provider (details below) and will not be shared with anyone without your express consent, except with employees and contractors of JYSK to carry out necessary purposes noted, and as permitted by applicable law. More specifically, your information is used only to support your application for employment with JYSK, except if you are hired by JYSK, in which case your information will be maintained as part of your employee records, and under the terms of JYSK’s privacy policies that apply to all employees. Any personal data collected will not be shared with any person or organization for any reason other than those stated above.

JYSK uses a third party vendor as a hosting partner to provide the required technology (hardware, software, networking, storage) to host applicant data. JYSK owns the code, databases, and all rights to utilize the services of the hosting partner and you retain all rights to your personal data. Unless you are hired as an employee, applicant data will be maintained in our third party system for a period of not more than five (5) years, after which time it will be removed from the active database, de-identified and stored in an offline archival database. If you are hired as a JYSK employee, your personal information will become part of our employee records, and will be maintained in accordance with JYSK’s privacy policies.

JYSK maintains strict security systems to safeguard your employee personal information as outlined in the JYSK Personnel File Access Policy.

Upon request, JYSK will make specific information about its policies and practices relating to the management of employee personal information available to you. You may also request access to your personal information at any time, subject to any statutory exceptions or restrictions. To obtain access to your personal information, please make a written request to hr@jysk.ca stating as specifically as possible which personal information you are requesting access to. You are also able to challenge the accuracy and completeness of the information disclosed and have it amended if appropriate.
