From the very beginning, great tradesmanship and great offers were the foundation of Lars Larsen’s work, founder of JYSK in 1979. The journey began with the opening of our first store in Aarhus, Denmark. Since then, JYSK has experienced constant growth. Today JYSK operates more than 3000 stores in over 50 countries worldwide.
JYSK Canada is a franchisee of the global JYSK brand. The first Canadian JYSK store was opened in 1996 in Coquitlam, BC. Today, there are over 60 JYSK stores across Canada, with locations in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario and Quebec.

As an organization, our ongoing partnership with Special Olympics Canada and continuous focus on sustainability are just a few ways we strive to make an impact on our communities and on the planet.
JYSK Canada is proud to be a member of the Special Olympics Canada community. Our partnership with the organization helps support more than 47,000 athletes with an intellectual disability across Canada. Since 2008, JYSK has donated over $1 million to Special Olympics Canada.
From our use of more sustainable textiles to our goal of using only FSC-certified wood in our products, JYSK continues to seek new and innovative ways of protecting our planet while providing reliable quality at a great price.
All jobs are challenging in the beginning, however that did not stop me from absorbing as much as I could about the operations of the business from very supportive people around me; our Distribution Centre Teams know the importance of communication and teamwork.
